Yunnan quake aftermath under watch
*

The Security Bureau and the Hong Kong Government's Beijing Office are closely monitoring the situation in Yao'an County in Yunnan Province, which was hit by an earthquake on Thursday, and will offer assistance to Hong Kong residents in need.

Up to 5pm today, the Immigration Department had received six enquiries, but no requests for assistance.

According to the travel trade, Hong Kong tour groups there are safe. As the location of the earthquake is not a tourist attraction, the groups' itineraries are not affected.

Residents who need assistance while outside Hong Kong may call (852)1868.
