Kwun Tong Magistracy today ordered a 43-year-old man to perform 140 hours of community service for intimidating a Department of Health tobacco control inspector.

The defendant criminally intimidated the inspector who was checking a restaurant on Un Chau Street, Cheung Sha Wan, March 28. He was arrested and charged by Police.

People should observe smoking prohibitions and co-operate with law-enforcement officers. Intimidation or use of violence on enforcement officers is a serious offence and carries serious legal consequences.
