Customs officers cracked seven drug smuggling cases at Hong Kong International Airport December 6 to 30, arresting five men and a woman, and seizing $2.94 million in narcotics.
The traffickers attempted to smuggle the drugs in body packs, backpacks, shoe soles, in their bodies and in express parcels. Three kilograms of heroin, 920g of cocaine and 1.68kg of cannabis were seized.
With the Lunar New Year approaching, Customs officers will continue their efforts to stop drugs from being trafficked into Hong Kong.
