176 summonses issued in traffic blitz

Police issued 200 fixed-penalty tickets and 176 summonses for traffic-related violations during a crackdown in Kowloon East yesterday.

 

From 7am to 11pm, 178 pedestrians and 61 drivers were verbally warned for jaywalking and other minor traffic offences.

 

Officers issued another 198 tickets for illegal parking and other similar offences.

 

There were 1,844 traffic accidents with people injured in eastern Kowloon from January to November.
