John Chai and Godfrey Lam have been appointed Consumer Legal Action Fund management-committee members for two years from December 6.

Incumbent members Johannes Chan, Samuel Chan, Anita Ma, Cecilia Woo, Yu Wing-tong and Connie Lau have been re-appointed.

The Commerce & Economic Development Bureau thanked retiring members Elizabeth Shing and Priscilla Wong for their contribution. It is confident that with the new members, the committee will continue to manage the fund efficiently.

The fund was established in 1994 to provide financial assistance to consumers wishing to take legal action against unscrupulous traders.

The Consumer Council is the fund's trustee. The management committee assists the council in managing the fund and determining applications' eligibility.
