A 32-year-old man was today jailed for 26 months after being convicted of three counts of passing counterfeit banknotes.

The Kowloon City Magistrates' Courts heard the man had produced three $500 counterfeit banknotes when he was shopping in Hung Hom from March to April.

A merchant who thought the banknote's authenticity was suspect made a report to Police. The man was arrested in Hung Hom in June.
