159 tickets issued in traffic-day blitz

Police issued 159 fixed penalty tickets and 93 summonses to motorists and pedestrians violating traffic regulations during a crackdown in Kowloon East.

 

The operation ended at 11pm yesterday and saw 163 officers enforce traffic laws at accident blackspots in eastern Kowloon. They gave verbal warnings to 17 pedestrians and 36 drivers for minor offences, and issued 68 fixed penalty tickets for illegal parking.

 

There were 1,626 traffic accidents in the region from January to October.
