The Government has condemned the assault on Lee Cheuk-yan and expressed its sympathy to the lawmaker.

Speaking to reporters this afternoon, Chief Secretary Henry Tang wished Mr Lee a speedy recovery. Noting Hong Kong is a peaceful and lawful society, Mr Tang said our city does not tolerate such violent acts.

Mr Lee was allegedly attacked by a man in Tuen Mun this morning. He was treated at Tuen Mun Hospital and has been discharged. Police are investigating the case.
