Customs officers have arrested a 14-year-old student for uploading pop music, including unreleased songs, onto the Internet for free download.

The young man was arrested today for contravening the Copyright Ordinance. He is believed to have made use of a website and discussion forums to publicise the availability of the songs for download.

Divisional Commander (Copyright Investigation) Michael Kwan warned young people not to violate Internet piracy.
