Police issued a stern warning today, urging people to respect the rule of law after yet another bomb hoax was revealed.
The MTR Corporation reported finding a suspicious object in an empty train in Tiu Keng Leng MTR Station at about 3.05pm. It was wrapped in two plastic bags, and inside the bags was a threatening note and some magazines.
The train was driven to the Kowloon Bay Depot where Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau officers conducted a controlled distruption of the package. Neither explosives nor harmful substances were found.
Police say they believe it was a mischief case - but will render every effort to investigate and bring those responsible to justice.
There were two similar bomb hoaxes yesterday, in Tsim Sha Tsui and Mong Kok.
Making a bomb hoax is a serious crime and offenders upon conviction will be liable to a fine of $150,000 and five years' imprisonment on indictment.
