Sha Tin Magistracy has jailed a 30-year-old man six months for transferring his identity card to another person without reasonable excuse.
Immigration officers arrested a Southeast Asian overstaying illegal worker at a container pier on January 2. He said he rented the defendant's identity card for $2,000 per month to secure his job at the pier.
Officers arrested the defendant at his home the following day and another two Southeast Asian illegal immigrants at the scene.
