Hong Kong Police

Police have charged two men and one woman jointly with one count of kidnapping in connection with a seven-year-old boy's kidnap in Sai Kung on June 19.

The men aged 21 and 30 and the 26-year-old woman will appear in Kwun Tong Magistracy on June 23.

A couple abducted the boy at about 7am that day as he was waiting for his school bus in Sai Kung.

The kidnappers called the boy's father around noon, demanding a ransom of $200,000 for the boy's safe return. The father immediately reported the case to Police.

After investigating, in the evening officers stopped a private car at Lin Cheung Road and Tonkin Street West and arrested four men, aged 18 to 21. They also rescued the boy from the boot of the car. His hands and legs were bound, but he was not injured.

After further investigation, Police arrested another 30-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman in the Cheung Sha Wan area on June 20.

Three men were released on bail pending investigations.
