40 good citizens awarded

Forty people have been given Good Citizen Awards for helping Police catch more than 30 suspects for theft, burglary, robbery, possession of dangerous drugs, careless driving and indecent assault.

 

Commending their vigilance and bravery, Senior Assistant Commission of Police Henrique Koo said they showed the spirit of helping each other among fellow citizens.

 

Each received a certificate and a $2,000 cheque.

 

Meanwhile, a new TV and radio announcement will be launched tonight reminding people to safeguard their personal belongings against pickpockets in crowded places. Posters and outdoor advertising featuring the same topic will also roll out.
