Hong Kong's Government Flying Service has airlifted two injured miners who have been stranded in the Sichuan mountains for 19 days after the May 12 earthquake. Pilot Victor Lau says he and his colleagues will spare no effort helping quake victims.

The two miners, aged 51 and 45, had been airlifted by a GFS helicopter at around 10am today to Guanghan and were rushed local hospitals. Their condition is stable.

Six army personnel found the duopair on May 31 with their ribs and limbs injured in the mountains near Mianzhu's Qingping town after their colleagues were rescued and told authorities their whereabouts on May 28.

They had access to rice and water and thus survived. Medical treatment was offered to them on site. Due to poor weather, helicopters could not reach the two miners until this morning.
