Jat Sew-tong has been appointed Chairman of the Independent Police Complaints Council from June 1 for two years, the Security Bureau says today.
He will succeed incumbent chairman Ronny Wong, whose appointment will end on May 31.
Mr Jat is active in public service, and is currently the Criminal & Law Enforcement Injuries Compensation Boards chairman and Administrative Appeals Board's deputy chairman.
The bureau said it is most grateful to Mr Wong for his leadership and contributions during his term.
The council is an independent civilian body tasked to monitor and review investigations of complaints against members of the police force. It comprises a chairman, three vice-chairmen and 14 non-official members.
