Police have arrested 27 people for drink driving in a four-day city-wide road safety campaign.

From May 9 to 12 officers visited bar and restaurant areas and distributed 21,000 leaflets appealing to motorists not to drive after drinking. A total of 254 motorists were invited to take voluntary breath tests.

Officers also conducted 374 roadside checks, making 27 drink-driving arrests.
