False Monetary Authority hotline detected

Monetary Authority

Police are investigating fraudulent telephone hotline 3177 1572 purporting to be an interactive voice-response system run by the Monetary Authority.

 

The authority has confirmed the hotline is not provided, or been approved, by it.

 

As Hong Kong's banking regulator the authority does not provide personal banking services.

 

Anyone who has provided personal information to the hotline should call Police.
