*
Hong Kong Police

Police are investigating a single-vehicle car accident in Tai Po this morning in which a 13-year-old girl was injured and later died in hospital.

A second passenger, another 13-year-old girl, is in critical condition while the driver is in stable condition.

About 12.40am, the 22-year-old driver was travelling along Bride's Pool Road towards Tai Po when he reportedly lost control of his car near Chung Mei. It struck a streetlight and bounced back onto the road.

He and the two girls who were sitting in the back seat were injured and taken to Alice Ho Nethersole Hospital for medical treatment. One girl was later transferred to Prince of Wales Hospital and certified dead at 11.13am.

People who saw the accident should call the Police on 2677 6299 or 2675 3384.
