Boundary busts: Customs officers arrested 97 people for drug offences at land boundary checkpoints January to November.

Customs officers arrested 97 people for drug offences at land boundary checkpoints January to November.

Customs & Excise Department Drug Investigation Bureau Head Ben Leung said 26 people aged under 21 were arrested from January to December 19. Drugs seized included ketamine, Erimin-5 and ecstasy worth $890,000.

Sniffer dogs cracked 29 cases and seized drugs worth $124 million.

Mr Leung said the department will maintain close contact with local and overseas enforcement agencies to strengthen intelligence exchange to deter cross-boundary drug trafficking.
