Troops review: Police College graduates see Deputy Commissioner of Police (Management) Fung Siu-yuen off.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Management) Gordon Fung says all Police officers have the duty to enhance their professionalism, adding Police are willing to continually devote resources to training.

Inspecting a passing-out parade today, Mr Fung encouraged the new recruits to pursue excellence through life-long learning.

"This is the reason why the Force is willing to continually devote huge amounts of resources to training.

"With such a comprehensive system to support you, every one of you has the duty to continue learning so as to enhance your professionalism," he told the graduating officers.

He said life-long learning is especially important to the passing-out inspectors as there is so much to learn about management. He also told them to abide by two fundamental principles: "Be fair, just and open" and "Lead by example".

A total of 25 probationary inspectors and 203 recruit constables passed out today.
