Cross-boundary crime: The $3.29 million worth of smuggled goods seized at Man Kam To Control Point.

*

Customs officers have arrested a driver after seizing 225 cartons of smuggled goods worth $3.29 million from an arriving lorry at Man Kam To Control Point.

The contraband includes watches, garments, mobile phones, vehicle parts and electronic goods, all believed to be counterfeit.

Officers stopped the lorry about 11am yesterday. It was declared to be carrying 1,006 cartons of assorted goods, including lamps, ceramics, garments and car DVD players. Officers found the contraband in the lorry's loading compartment.

The 42-year-old driver has been released on bail.
