The Monetary Authority calls on consumers to beware of fraudulent emails from onlineservice@hkbea.com, which asks Bank of East Asia customers to provide personal particulars and account information.

 

The bank has clarified it has no connection with the emails and has reported the case to the Police.

 

People who receive fraudulent emails of this kind should call Police on 2860 5012. More information on Internet banking security can be found here.
