Anti-crime co-operation: Secretary for Security Ambrose Lee opens the Police Studies symposium.

Only through close co-operation among international and inter-regional law enforcement agencies can transboundary crime be effectively combated, Secretary for Security Ambrose Lee says.

Opening the Police Studies symposium today Mr Lee said it provides an effective platform for experts, academics and law enforcement agencies from Hong Kong, Macau, the Mainland and Taiwan to enhance anti-crime ties.

Commissioner of Police Tang King-shing added that while social environments in the four jurisdictions differ, each has considerable issues and experiences worth exchanging.

About 130 delegates are attending the symposium at Police Headquarters October 29 and 30.
