Ambrose Lee officiates at the opening of the West Kowloon Rescue Training Centre

Fire facility: Secretary for Security Ambrose Lee helps formally open the West Kowloon Rescue Training Centre.

Secretary for Security Ambrose Lee says the Government is committed to enhancing rescue training for frontline fire-fighters and maintaining the high efficiency and quality of rescue services.

The Fire Services Department has spent $96 million in building the West Kowloon Rescue Training Centre to provide state-of-the-art training facilities for rescue personnel.

Officially opening the centre today Mr Lee said it will further boost officers' fire-fighting and rescue skills. More than 2,000 fire-fighters have received training there since its unofficial launch in November.

It features advanced training facilities for rescue and fire-fighting, plus an infrared sensor system to ensure fire-fighters' safety.
