Hong Kong Police

Marine Police have seized $5.3 million worth of contraband electronic products in Tung Chung.

About 8.50pm yesterday officers spotted goods being unloaded from a truck onto two speedboats at Sha Tsui Tau. Officers intercepted the truck and arrested the male driver. The speedboats fled.

Officers seized a large quantity of contraband electronic products including computer disks, digital camcorders, digital cameras, LCD monitors and integrated circuits.

The 39-year-old driver has been released on bail. The Customs & Excise Department will take up the case.
