Electronics worth $23m seized in Tai Po

Marine Police have seized $23 million worth of contraband electronic products in Tai Po.

 

About 5pm yesterday, Marine officers spotted a group of people unloading goods from two light goods vehicles onto some speedboats at Sam Mun Tsai. Another group of people were also spotted unloading goods from a light goods vehicle to some speedboats in Yuen Chau Tsai.

 

When they saw the Police officers, all people at the two locations fled in the speedboats, leaving the three vehicles.

 

A total of 455 boxes of contraband electronic products, including computer hard disks, semiconductors, integrated circuits and LCD monitors worth $23 million were seized.

 

The cases have been handed over to the Customs & Excise Department for further investigation.
