*
Labour Department

Police and Labour Department officers have arrested 19 illegal workers and nine employers in an illicit work operation.

The two-day crackdown ending today saw officers raid 25 retail shops, eateries, renovation sites and foot massage parlours.

Twelve of those arrested were working as shop assistants, three as foot masseurs, two as cleaners, one as a renovation worker and one as a kitchen helper.

Seventeen were Mainlanders, one an over-stayer, while another was a domestic worker and the other could not produce proof of identity.

Call 2815 2200 to report illegal employment.
