The District Court has jailed five Mainlanders for up to 14 months for possessing false travel documents.

Lin Qing, 29, was jailed 14 months, and Weng Biyun, 33, Yang Hongying, 31, Weng Pingying, 32 and Yan Tongying, 41, were each jailed for eight months.

Lin was intercepted at the boarding gate of a flight at the airport in April, with four Japanese passports bearing photos of the four women. The women were then intercepted at the boarding gate. They admitted they intended to go to Columbia to seek jobs.

Forensic examination confirmed the passports were bio-data page-substituted forgeries.
