Anti-drug fight: Commissioner for Narcotics Sally Wong and Anti-drug Ambassador Eric Suen try out the Evil Killer anti-drug game.

The Security Bureau's Narcotics Division will launch a free mobile phone game to spread anti-drug messages on July 15.

Evil Killer is designed to combat ketamine and ecstasy, the two most commonly abused psychotropic drugs among young people. Players need a good memory and perfect co-ordination to overcome the difficulties posed by two cyber characters. Players will also learn about the harm ketamine and ecstasy can do as they battle through the different stages of the game.

Commissioner for Narcotics Sally Wong called on youngsters to partake in healthy activities during the summer holiday, and to not to be fooled by the illusion that taking drugs is trendy.

She said some young people think it is harmless to try drugs. They wrongly believe they will look cool and not get hooked. In fact abusers find their brains and bodily functions get damaged, their IQ falls to an alarming level, and that the rehabilitation process is painful and formidable.

"Taking psychotropic drugs is abusing dangerous drugs. It is against the law and the maximum penalty is seven years' jail plus a $1-million fine," Ms Wong said.

The game has both mobile phone and computer versions. Download the game here for free.
