Beating drugs: The new drug education kit for primary and secondary schools features handbooks, student activities with teacher guidelines and instructions, student activity worksheets and a DVD. |
The Security Bureau's Narcotics Division has launched a new drug education kit for primary and secondary schools to help teachers handle abuse problems.
The kit is designed for senior primary general studies and junior secondary liberal studies. Each comprises handbooks for parents and teachers, and student activities with teacher guidelines and instructions, student activity worksheets and a DVD.
The disc contains two computer files and film footage of an anti-drug docu-drama series featuring genuine drug abuse and rehabilitation cases.
The handbook includes feature articles and reference material introducing drug-related problems.
The student activities are interactive featuring multimedia elements in the form of a quiz, psychological test and role-play, followed by discussion and project study. A set of teacher guidelines for each activity is provided.
A number of publicity activities will be held from July to September to promote the kit among teachers, social workers and parents.
Teaching resources will be available on the Narcotics Division's website and the Community Drug Advisory Council's website.
