*
Hong Kong Police

Police have shut down a cross-region vehicle theft syndicate, arresting six people and recovering four stolen vehicles, worth about $1 million.

On June 6, Police received reports that two 28-seater tour buses and two light goods vehicles were stolen in Wong Tai Sin, Kwun Tong and Sheung Shui.

Officers raided a depot on Ng Chow South Road in Fanling on the same day, arresting four Pakistani men and one local man aged 27 to 57 who were loading a stolen light goods vehicle into a container. Another missing 28-seater bus was later recovered inside a temporary shelter at the depot.

Officers then searched a Pakistani arrestee's Fanling home and arrested a 33-year-old Nepalese woman.

Police recovered another stolen light goods vehicle and one 28-seater tour bus inside a container in Kwai Chung Container Terminal on June 7.

Investigations are underway.
