Pulled pork: Food & Environmental Hygiene and Customs & Excise Department officers have arrested two men and seized 300kg of smuggled pork from a car at Lok Ma Chau checkpoint.

Food & Environmental Hygiene and Customs & Excise Department officers have arrested two men and seized 300kg of smuggled pork from a car at Lok Ma Chau checkpoint.

 

Officers stopped the vehicle about 7am and found 12 bags of pork without health certificates.

 

The Food & Environmental Hygiene Department will closely monitor the sale of meat at the retail level and impose stringent enforcement to safeguard food safety and public health. People who have doubts about meat being sold at retail outlets should call 2868 0000.
