Troops review: Chinese People's Liberation Army Garrison in Hong Kong Commander Lieutenant General Wang Jitang inspects a passing-out parade at the Hong Kong Police College.
*

Commander of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Garrison in Hong Kong Lieutenant General Wang Jitang says the garrison has established close cooperation and friendly relations with the Hong Kong Police since they were stationed here to undertake defence duties in 1997.

Inspecting a passing-out parade at the Hong Kong Police College today, Mr Wang said the Hong Kong Police force is an outstanding disciplined force, noted for being well trained, adopting a fine style of work, showing high regard for its posts and dedication to work, as well as its high quality and competency.

He congratulated the graduating officers on successfully completing rigorous training and passing every test required.

Mr Wang said the Hong Kong Garrison, since being stationed in the territory to take care of defence matters, has been enthusiastically and thoroughly following the great principle of "One country, two systems", working hard to uphold Hong Kong's prosperity and stability.

He told the graduating officers that the Hong Kong Garrison was willing to strengthen exchange and communication with the Police to enhance understanding and friendship between the two sides and work together to serve Hong Kong and render good service to the motherland.

A total of 15 probationary inspectors, eight graduates of the Inspector induction course and 203 recruit constables passed out today.
