Suicidal woman charged with child neglect
*
Hong Kong Police

Police have charged a 21-year-old Wong Tai Sin woman with child neglect after attempting suicide while holding her son. The case will be heard at Kwun Tong Magistracy on April 26.

About 3.20pm April 23, Police were told that the woman was holding half a bottle of suspected steriliser standing in a dangerous position with her two-year-old son on the footbridge connecting Tin Ma Court and Wang Tau Hom Estate. The informant shouted to stop the woman who then fled towards Fung Mo Street with the child.

At the junction of Lung Cheung Road and Fung Mo Street, carrying the boy, she rushed out into the street, but an approaching truck managed to stop in time. The woman and boy then went up the footbridge connecting Morse Park Swimming Pool and the Pentecoastal Holiness Church Wing Kwong College where Police stopped them

Police urge the truck driver, and anyone else with information on the case, to call investigators on 2352 9477-9456.
