Monetary Authority

The Monetary Authority warns consumers about fraudulent website www.commercialgeneralhk.com, which is operated by an alleged "Commercial General Bank Hong Kong".

The 'bank' claims that it offers various banking services to Hong Kong. However, it is not authorised under the Banking Ordinance to conduct banking business or to take deposits in Hong Kong, nor does it have approval to establish a local representative office.

The authority has reported the case to Police. Anyone who has had dealings with, or any transactions through, the site should contact Police on 2860 5012. For a list of authorised institutions click here. For enquiries call 2878 8222.
