The Immigration Department advises Hong Kong SAR passport holders to apply for an appropriate visa if they intend to visit 10 Caribbean Community countries which will be treated as a Single Domestic Space from January 15.
The countries where a CARICOM Special Visa is required are Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, the Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, St Kitts & Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent & the Grenadines as well as Trinidad & Tobago.
The move aims to accommodate the special security and other considerations relating to the Cricket World Cup 2007.
Currently, Hong Kong SAR passport holders do not require a visa to visit the Commonwealth of Dominica, Jamaica, St Kitts & Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent & the Grenadines as well as Trinidad & Tobago.
However, given the introduction of the CARICOM Special Visa requirement, they are advised to apply for an appropriate visa if they intend to visit these countries during the specified period. Holders of the HKSAR passport still require a visa for travelling to the other four countries, Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Grenada and Guyana.
