Customs officers arrested 13 people during the four-day Toys & Games Fair at the Convention & Exhibition Centre, which ended today, seizing $9,400 worth of copyright infringing toys.
It was the third time the Customs & Excise Department raided a large-scale exhibition with the Brands Protection Alliance.
Intellectual Property Investigation (Operations) Group head Edmond Cheng said that with the alliance's support, Customs can expedite the investigation and prosecution process.
Under the Fast Action Scheme, Customs get copyright information on alliance members' merchandise to be exhibited, and act promptly should any piracy reports arise.
