Man extradited from the US for false accounting
*
Hong Kong Police

A 44-year-old man wanted in a $12.7-million false-accounting case has been extradited from the US. He will appear in Eastern Magistracy December 22 to face 14 counts of false accounting and seven of procuring the making of an entry in the record of a bank by deception.

In 1995 he is alleged to have manipulated four trading companies to obtain the cash advance from a bank by presenting false shipping documents, and arranged for the proceeds to be taken away from these companies' accounts.

The bank found the shipping documents were forged and told Police on May 13, 1996. He went to the US in January 1997. He was arrested in Las Vegas by US authorities last August extradited to Hong Kong today.
