*
ICAC

A Correctonal Services Department officer has been jailed six years by the District Court for smuggling heroin and cocaine into Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre for $50,000.

Assistant Officer II Yau Chun-hung, 34, was found guilty of one count of conspiracy to traffic in dangerous drugs.

The defendant had passed two cigarette boxes containing 28g of heroin and 7g of cocaine to prisoners in March last year. The case was uncovered when surprise urine tests were conducted a month later, and 14 prisoners tested positive for drugs. Yau was arrested and charged by the Independent Commission Against Corruption.
