The District Count has jailed a 22-year-old Pakistani man for 20 months for holding fake banknotes and attempting to use them.

He tried to use a fake $500-note at a Mong Kok shop on March 30. During the purchase, he left suddenly with the note. Police stopped him on Ivy Street and seized eight fake $500-notes.

The man was charged with one count of custody of counterfeit banknotes and one of attempting to pass counterfeit banknotes. He was convicted today.
