Fanny Law tours ICAC HQs
Building tour: Commissioner Fanny Law inspects the Independent Commission Against Corruption's headquarters building under construction in North Point.

The Independent Commission Against Corruption's efficiency will be enhanced by the upgraded operational and training facilities offered with the opening of its headquarters building in North Point next September, its new Commissioner Fanny Law says.

Speaking at the building's topping-out ceremony today, Mrs Law said apart from a highly professional team, the commission needs advanced facilities and information-technology support to tackle increasingly sophisticated crime and the challenges brought by the globalisation of world economies.

The buidling's construction began in September 2004, and is near completion with internal fitting-out work being done in the coming months. When opened next fall, it will house many departments under one roof, boosting communication within the commission and enhancing overall efficiency.

The 25-storey building, located on Java Road in North Point, houses facilities essential to the commission's operation, including an operations control room, video interview rooms, a detention centre, a report centre, an identification parade room, an indoor shooting range, a multi-purpose training hall and a multi-purpose theatre.
