A man has been jailed 15 months by Sha Tin Magistracy for trying to use a forged identity card at an immigration e-channel.

Wong Tam-po, 48, pleaded guilty today to two counts of possessing a forged identity card and two counts of holding a false instrument.

On October 7, Wong unsuccessfully tried to use the forged card at Lo Wu checkpoint and was arrested. Another forged Hong Kong identity card was found on him, along with two home visit permits. He admitted he paid RMB1,600 for the four forged items.
