The Immigration Department announced today that nationals of the Republic of Togo will require visas to visit Hong Kong starting September 25.
Even air passengers in transit will need a visa. At present, Togo nationals may Hong Kong without a visa for up to 14 days.
Hong Kong has a liberal visa policy under which nationals of about 170 countries and territories may visit without a visa and stay for seven to 180 days, the department said.
It regularly reviews its visa policies, taking into account factors such as the social, economic and political situation of countries and territories concerned.
