The Office of the Telecommunications Authority and Police have seized unlicensed radio transmitter equipment suspected to be used by Citizens' Radio.
Officers raided an industrial building in Chai Wan and three hillside locations in Kowloon yesterday, seizing seven pieces of equipment and three radio transmitter sets. One person was brought to the Police station for investigation.
The office said the unlicensed radio transmitters were found at the three hillside locations, while the location at Chai Wan was mainly used for relaying voice signals to the transmitters.
In the past 10 months, the office had already confiscated three unlicensed radio transmitter sets suspected to be used by Citizens' Radio's broadcast.
Unlicensed use of radio transmitters can cause interference to other legitimate spectrum users, the office said, adding it will continue to take enforcement actions against them.
