Busy border: Secretary for Security Ambrose Lee inspects passenger and vehicle clearance systems at Woodlands Checkpoint in Singapore.
*

Secretary for Security Ambrose Lee has visited Singapore's passenger and vehicle clearance systems at its border with Malaysia.

On the second day of his visit to the city-state, Mr Lee went to Woodlands Checkpoint, which serves travellers crossing to and from Malaysia by road. More than 230,000 travellers pass through the checkpoint daily, making it one of the busiest in the world.

Mr Lee later visited the Singapore Internal Security Department and was briefed on the government's efforts and initiatives to tackle terrorism and other security threats. He will return to Hong Kong tomorrow.
