Police have reminded the taxi and minibus trades to conduct protests peacefully. The caution was issued after the trades planned to conduct 'wildcat' protest action from next week.
Police have been maintaining contact with representatives of the transport trades, and have been assured by the organiser that participants will comply with public order laws.
Regarding van activities at the airport, Police said it will take action to prevent and disrupt all forms of illegal transportation. Over 460 operations were conducted against touting and illegal carriage of passengers in July, resulting in seven arrests.
In conjunction with the Environment, Transport & Works Bureau, Transport Department and the Airport Authority, publicity at the airport has also been stepped up.
