Customs officers have neutralised a syndicate selling power-drills bearing counterfeit trademarks, arresting eight people and seizing $170,000 worth of drills.
Officers yesterday raided various premises in Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories, seizing 41 trademark-infringing drills and another 247 drills being prepared to have forged trademarks applied to them.
Seven men and a woman, aged 24 to 46, were arrested. They short term two-way permit holders from the Mainland.
The syndicate used a Mong Kok guesthouse as a base and re-labelling facility.
