*

Customs officers have seized 4,400kgs of frozen pangolin carcass, worth about $890,000. The Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department has confirmed the species is endangered.

The consignment, declared to be frozen fish, was shipped from Indonesia on July 16 for re-export to the Mainland.

Customs examined the cargo in Kwai Chung Customhouse and found frozen pangolin carcass camouflaged by frozen fish, piled up inside the container.

No arrest has been made so far. Investigations are underway.
