362 tickets issued in traffic blitz

Hong Kong Police

Police have issued 362 tickets and five summonses to traffic offenders during a two-day operation on Hong Kong Island. Another 218 tickets were also issued for parking offences.

 

The Hong Kong Island Regional Traffic Day, which ended 7pm today, saw 154 officers man accident blacksites in the region.

 

Warnings were issued to 102 jaywalkers and 76 drivers for minor offences, and road safety pamphlets were also distributed.

 

The region saw 1,463 traffic accidents in the first six months of this year. Of them, 54.1% were attributed to pedestrian negligence.
