Police have arrested 192 suspected bookmakers during the World Cup period, seizing betting slips worth $71 million.

Fifty-seven illegal websites were uncovered and eight servers seized.

Organised Crime & Traid Bureau Chief Superintendent Choy Kin-cheung said both the Guangdong Public Security Bureau and Macau Judiciary Police also achieved excellent results in tackling illegal soccer bookmaking.

Police provided information to overseas law enforcement agencies on 200 websites registered in six different countries for follow up action.
